How
Does the Geothermal Heating/Air Work
-
That is a complex
question, and we defer you to the experts on that one. The
Geo-exchange Technology was provided by Geotility, and we recommend you
visit their website for some cool animated explanations:

Q & A
-
Are
there any Health Food markets in town?
The markets most similar to Henry’s and Whole Foods are
- Choices Market - very large store - 1937 Harvey (about 4 km past hwy
33)
http://www.mapquest.com/maps?city=Kelowna&state=BC&address=1937+Harvey&cat=Choices+Market
- Natures Fare Market - in Orchard Plaza (2 km past hwy 33, across
street from Orchard Park Mall)
http://www.mapquest.com/maps?city=Kelowna+&state=BC&address=1876+Cooper+Road
-
Do
you have a vacuum cleaner (we use the vacu-paks for our clothes)?
Yes. Crescendo has a whole-house in-wall system.
-
Do
we need adapters for electricity?
All outlets at Crescendo are the standard North America/Central America
types (e.g., US, CAN): two flat parallel prongs and a grounding pin.
-
Do
you have a hair blower, or should we bring our own?
There is a hair blower in each of the five bathrooms.
-
Is
there a way for us to hook-up our iPod?
Yes. There is an iPod doc in the kitchen (with a Nano adapter, as well).
Once plugged in, the system reads what is on your iPod (including the
meta-data), and displays it on the touchpanel. Your iPod is then
controlled via the touchpanel, as well, and can then be played through
the speakers in most of the rooms. Importantly, we do have XM radio, and
have been told by many of our guests that they’ve enjoyed the XM more
than the iPods brought with them.
-
Do
you have any board games?
We do have several board games, and we can send you a list of those as
your arrival date approaches. Please feel free to let us know what your
favorites are, as we are always interested in adding to our collection.
Aside from board games, Crescendo has a Ping Pong table and an X-Box
360.
-
Can
we play our own DVDs in the theatre?
There is a local DVD player in the theatre that you have access to,
where you can enjoy the DVDs that you bring with you (as long as your
DVD is compatible with US/CAN standards, and it is not Blu-Ray).
Remember, though, Crescendo has a DVdj with hundreds of titles, and we
will send you a list of those titles as your arrival date approaches.
-
Are
there any non-snow related activities you would recommend for us to do?
For kids, during the ski season the mountain has daily and nightly
activities. Kelowna itself is a rather nice town, and can be a lot of
fun. It is an artsy community, with an Art Center, an Art Walk, and
more. Kelowna is also the Napa Valley of BC, with world-class golfing
and hundreds of vineyards. Wine tasting is pretty much year round.
Kelowna also has a casino (not bad, but no craps table).
During warmer weather, Lake Okanagan is a lot of fun. The lake is 135 km
long, and between 4-5 km wide. There are parks along the shores, and
plenty of swimming, boating, and fishing (including rainbow trout and
kokanee). It is said, by some, to also be home to its own sea monster: a
giant serpent-like creature named Ogopogo.
